Privacy policy
Effective 6 October 2026 · applies to the Wobbli Android app and wobbli.app
Wobbli collects nothing, shares nothing, and cannot phone home: the app does not request internet access at all, so it is technically unable to send anything anywhere.
What the app stores — on your phone only
Wobbli keeps a small amount of data in the app's private storage on your device, and nowhere else:
- Your settings — the nudge delay you chose, and the list of Bluetooth devices you've silenced with "Not for this device" (their name and Bluetooth address, so Wobbli can recognise them).
- Three counters — how many stranded moments were spotted, how many nudges were sent, and how many times music started afterwards. Shown to you on the app's main screen; you can reset them there any time.
- A running total of saves — so Wobbli can say a one-time "I've caught your music 5 times" inside the app. Not reset with the counters.
- The last device it heard — that device's name, when it connected, and what Wobbli decided (nudged, or stayed quiet because music was already playing, and so on). Shown on the main screen to help you check Wobbli is working. Only the most recent one is kept.
- Whether you've seen the intro, so it isn't shown twice.
None of this ever leaves your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
Permissions, and why each one exists
- Bluetooth (Nearby devices) — so Wobbli can notice when a speaker or headphones connect, and read the device's name and type to tell a speaker from, say, a car stereo. Processed on the device, in the moment.
- Notifications — so Wobbli can send the nudge. That is the app's entire product; it never notifies you for any other reason.
- Alarms & reminders — so the nudge arrives on time even when your phone is dozing.
- Full-screen notifications — only used if you choose the "Full screen" nudge style, so the nudge can appear over the lock screen.
The one Google library, and what it does
Wobbli includes Google's Play In-App Review library for a single moment: after Wobbli has caught your music 5 times, it may show the Play Store's own rating sheet, once. The library talks to the Play Store app already on your phone; Wobbli itself still has no internet permission and sends nothing. If you leave a rating, that happens in the Play Store under Google's privacy policy, exactly as if you'd rated from the store.
When you choose to contact us
"Send feedback" and "Share Wobbli" just open your own mail or sharing apps with a draft. Nothing is sent unless you send it. Feedback drafts include the Wobbli version, Android version and phone model, which you can delete before sending.
What Wobbli does not do
- No accounts, no sign-in.
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs other than the Google review library described above.
- No data collection of any kind, from anyone — including children.
- No internet permission: the app cannot transmit data even in principle.
This website
wobbli.app is a static page with no cookies, no analytics and no forms. Like any website, it is delivered by a hosting provider (Cloudflare), which processes standard technical data such as your IP address in order to serve the page — see Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Changes
If Wobbli's behaviour ever changes in a way that affects this policy — for example, an optional feature that does use the network — this page will say so plainly before that version ships, and the effective date above will change.
